First person, true stories, often comedic, in the Moth tradition. Deena’s stories explore a wide range of themes, from profoundly personal to topical–disabilities, the arts, education, politics, travel, and even electricity, physics and engineering. Her one-woman show weaves together a series of interconnected stories about a New Englander moving to the deep south.
By day, Deena Frankel is a communicator, writer, & designer in the world of electric power. Otherwise, she seeks the power in her own and others’ stories as a freelance writer, editor, designer, & oral storyteller. She co-organizes Storytelling VT (a monthly live event in Winooski), serves on the staff of the literary journal Mud Season Review, & recently edited the nonfiction for The Best of the Burlington Writers Workshop 2015 anthology. Deena is a multiple winner at ExtempoVT, and has placed first or second in four Moth story slams. She has tells throughout New England.
