About the Conference:

Sharing the Fire (STF) – the Northeast Storytelling Conference is the place to come to experience the best tellers in the Northeast. The general public is invited to storytelling concerts. For storytellers and those interested in learning how to tell stories, the weekend of workshops provides unmatched professional and personal development opportunities.

Conference Theme:

Voices Across Borders: Creating Connections

Barriers, real or imagined, separate us by nationality, culture, race, age, sex, ability, language, finances, and more. This conference will explore the many ways stories can reach across borders, help people listen to others, and make powerful changes possible.

Keynote:

2015headshot-xy-236x300Our keynote this year is Sue O’Halloran.  Her life’s work has focused on social justice, particularly in the areas of diversity, race relations, and community-building.  On these matters she has written books, consulted to Fortune 500 companies, designed curricula and trained hundreds of teachers and teaching artists, appeared on national television and radio, produced the JustStories and Stories Connect Us All Festivals, and created resources including the RaceBridges Studio.  Positive, funny, brave, profound — Sue O’Halloran is out to change the world, using stories.
